When working with feelings, one notices that this isn’t limited to food. The urge to pick up your smartphone, the urge to call someone or watch a show, any number of urges can actually be a response to a discomfort. When someone says, “I’m bored,” they might actually be feeling lonely, worried, scared, depressed, unwanted, any number of low-level feelings that they are trying to avoid but instead call it “bored.” The urge to play video games to escape deep feelings.

Shit gets real when we stop and feel stuff instead of distracting ourselves.
