That's wonderfully explained! I teach yoga too and so few of us instructing, realise that the person doing it has a completely different body to yours. I loved your bit about sitting on the chair with a leg crossed over the other knee - saying, that much stretch may be enough! Really liked that. Wish more instructors give clearer instructions - and, keeping various body types in mind. Thank you for this share.

Thanks for your kind words! I teach mostly people over 50, but I have always believed in practicing yoga with the body that you have, not the one I have or someone else has. Listening to your body is so important! I am glad my post resonated!

It certainly did! I teach women transitioning peri /menopause too - so totally get what you wrote. Wish more of our fraternity did the same. And once again, you explained it beautifully too (in words). Thank you.
