Quitting smoking at the same time must have been so hard! Practicing compassion with yourself helps. When you feel shame about your food choices it leads to worse choices. When you can be kind toward yourself, you can start again from a more mindful place. 💜

I've been emotional eating since my surgery in December, plus I quit smoking that day. I try not to keep the snacky things in the house, but I also emotional shop for food. Starting to feel like I am ready to let go of this bad habit.

Before I retired after 36 years I did a lot of emotional eating. After I retired and did a deep dive into my diet the one thing I noticed Janine is that eating a whole food diet helps. Fuelling the body with healthy foods and fats has been a huge benefit. Especially considering that I used to eat a lot of processed foods.

Absolutely. When you shift your focus from "food to stop being hungry" to "food as fuel," you make different choices. And it feels better too!
