Tree Pose has always (until recently) my absolute nemesis. The secret is not to focus TOO hard else you crash over like a tree hit by lightning. I also have to just relax my mind and give in to the fixed idea of NOT falling over. Once I let go of that detritus, all of a sudden I can hold the pose for a few seconds. It’s the journey, not the destination, right?? 🤣
Yup, the journey always matters more, Heather! The more you hold on, the harder you will fall over. More ease, less effort. More breath, less controlling. That's the only way to go.
Multi-tasking is what I do and I never learn. Brain fog, menopause and ADHD keep it interesting. I need to get back to yoga. I've been avoiding with the shoulder injury, knees but so many options to do. Breathing if nothing else
With the combo platter of menopause and ADHD, multi-tasking is the default. Yoga and meditation can help, for sure, since disregulation will just up the distractibility. Be kind to yourself first.
Focusing my eyes, for sure, but off the mat, setting aside distractions. When I practice yoga, for example, I have music playing on my phone and I am not checking notifications. Keeping them quiet is key. Also kindness toward myself, that if I do become distracted, I just start again without judging myself. The less time you spend criticizing yourself, the easier it is to get back to what you're doing. Life is full of distractions. Prioritizing what you are doing helps.

Good luck, Pete, let me know how it goes!
That's awesome, and you're welcome!
