On days when I use kettlebells, I’ve moved the yoga to afterwards. I did this because I felt like I didn’t want muscles “loose” for explosive motion, and because yoga calms the body back down before I leave the house. I’m glad to see that this wasn’t a bad choice!
I’ve been doing ankle circles for the last year because I can feel those tightening up over time. You have me thinking about a pre-walk or pre-run warmup more seriously since I’m likely to just blast out the door.
Warming up prepares the body for movement. You’ll enjoy the walk or run more if it feels good, rather than if you're aware of every creaky joint and right muscle. It doesn't have to take long, maybe 5-10 minutes, just to get the blood flowing. Thanks for reading and sharing, Tim!
This is something I never do. Stretch after/before walking. Time to start. Great info.
Thanks Heather! Stretching after can make a huge difference in how you feel the rest of the day!

Great tip in the title! I didn’t know that.
Thanks Kathy! Yes, it’s a common misconception that you should stretch to warm up, when in reality you should move to warm up, then stretch after.
Thanks for restacking Jane!💜🙏
