I love my yoga strap and block. They are so helpful and make me feel more confident as I begin practicing yoga more often now. One thing I do need is a good mat, I tend to use my carpet as a mat.

A good mat can make a huge difference with stability. Rugs can be slippery. Floors can be good, but they are hard. I love my Manduka mat.

I don't find the rug slippery, I just feel as though some extra cushion would be nice. I will check out Manduka mats.

I like a mat on a rug, that's how I practice these days. You get the stickiness of the mat with the cushion of the rug. As long as the rug isn't too deep, which could bother your wrists, cushioning is good.

I love this! Thank you for encouraging us to meet our own need for support and breaking the facade of "never let 'em see you sweat."

The resistance is keeping you from being in the pose. The props allow you to find surrender and more ease, even in strengthening poses. That's where the real yoga lies, in the surrender.

That is great. To welcome instead of resisting.
